Manafort — who was serving a federal seven-and-a-half year sentence
on charges brought by special counsel Robert Mueller — was released
to home confinement
New
York prosecutors have accused him of giving false information on a
mortgage loan application, but a local judge dismissed the case as
violating a state law against holding a state trial on previous
federal charges. Prosecutors are appealing that ruling.
